Meet Your Instructors

Allen Peabody
With a longstanding passion for Restorative Justice, Allen has practiced in Greater Vancouver and Vancouver Island. He is our Caseworker Manager and works cases, trains volunteers, and liaises with local police and prosecutors.
Allen earned his JD (Law) at the University of Victoria and is a certified provincial trainer for CJF, a corporate trainer, and business manager.
He also serves as chair of the Canadian Bar Association of BC, Restorative Justice Committee, and sits on the Bar Association’s Provincial Council.
Instructor for the Restorative Justice Facilitator Certificate.

Carmen Hildebrand
Carmen has a background in Social Work and a long history in the Restorative Justice (RJ) field.
Her achievements include:

The development of the first Restorative Justice Program for the John Howard Society in the Okanagan;
-
Oversight and re-development of the Ladysmith RJ Program, development of the Mentorship Program for the Cowichan RJ; and
-
several years as a certified RJ Caseworker.
Carmen also teaches restorative justice principles and practices at local schools using circle dialogue processes with students and teachers.
